Hi there, I’m Avery Ellie’s Brown Ale. I was originally named Elle’s Brown Ale after our founder Adam Avery’s chocolate lab, but had to go through a name change after a certain fashion publication sent a Cease and Desist letter. But I don’t mind – I’m still the same friendly and mellow beer that everyone knows and loves, with a little bit of a nutty personality to keep things interesting.
As Adam’s best friend, Elle (or now called Ellie) was always by his side, whether he was at work or climbing mountains. And while everyone at the brewery misses her dearly, her spirit lives on in me, as she’s forever immortalized on my label.
My deep russet color hints at the rich chocolate and brown sugar maltiness that dominates my flavor, with just a touch of vanilla and nuttiness to keep things interesting. When you take a sip, you’ll immediately notice how quaffable I am – I’m not too heavy, not too bitter, just the right amount of everything to make you want to keep coming back for more.
